Director, Institute of Cellular and System Medicine, National Health Research Institutes, Taiwan

Applications and nominations are invited for the position of Director of Institute of Cellular and System Medicine (ICSM) at the National Health Research Institutes (NHRI), Taiwan.

The National Health Research Institutes, Taiwan is a non-profit and mission-oriented biomedical research institute in Taiwan. Its mission is to advance medical and health research and improve people’s health and well-being. As one of NHRI’s prestigious research units, ICSM aims to develop innovative strategies for prevention and treatment of cardiometabolic diseases and its complications. To reach the goals, the general theme of the institute is to identify biomarkers & therapeutic targets and develop stem cell-based regenerative medicine via interdisciplinary biomedical sciences. The Director is responsible for supervision of research programs within the institute, as well as for research collaboration with other sections of NHRI and outside institutions. Prospective candidates should have strong organizational, communicative, and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to interact effectively with others at all levels inside and outside of NHRI. Applicants should have a doctorate (Ph.D. and/or M.D.) in biomedical sciences and demonstrate a successful record of conducting interdisciplinary research, particularly in cardiometabolic diseases and their therapy and regeneration.

Familiarity with Taiwan’s scientific and medical community, proficiency in Chinese language, the ability to work effectively in Taiwan’s research environment and experience in pharmaceutical related business are preferred.
