At the Faculty of Medicine of Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn, a

W2 professorship for psycho-oncological and psychosomatic health services research

is to be filled as soon as possible, either as a civil servant (if the requirements under civil service law are met) or as a permanent employee.

The professorship is located at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Psychosomatic Medicine and Psychotherapy (Director: Prof. Dr. med. Dipl.-Psych. Franziska Geiser).

The future position holder is expected to build on the very successful work of the previous position holder in the Center for Health Communication and Health Services Research and to further develop the topic of psycho-oncological and/or psychosomatic health services research, including patient communication and empowerment, if applicable, with their own focal areas. Relevant experience in the acquisition and management of third-party funded projects and internationally visible publications are expected; collaboration in national or international networks is required. In addition, willingness to collaborate across disciplines within the research focal areas of the Faculty of Medicine is expected, especially active participation in the Bonn Network for Health Services Research and the Center for Integrated Oncology (CIO Bonn). There is currently also close collaboration with the Institute for Patient Safety.

Special commitment and experience in student teaching according to Section 36 Higher Education Act NRW are expected. Responsibilities include co-designing and teaching the course on Physician Conversation and Communication; associated with this is participation in the further development of a longitudinal communication curriculum in human medicine as well as new interprofessional teaching formats. Participation in the Bonn Graduate Schools (BIGS) is possible and desired. Participation in patient care can be negotiated, if required, if the personal requirements are met.

Requirements for employment are a degree in medicine or other health sciences (e.g. medicine, psychology, sociology, health care sciences, nursing science, health sciences) as well as a doctorate and habilitation or proof of equivalent scientific achievements.
