St Jude Children’s Research Hospital is a private, not-for-profit institute that is internationally recognized for its commitment to providing state of the art clinical services, while performing innovative basic and patient-directed research. St. Jude is the first and only pediatric cancer center to be designated as a Comprehensive Cancer Center by the National Cancer Institute.

We seek a highly motivated, faculty-level investigator (clinician scientist or clinician track) with training in hematology and oncology or clinical genetics and a strong interest and experience in hereditary predisposition to cancer. The faculty member will be housed in the Division of Cancer Predisposition, a unique Section within the Department of Oncology that is solely dedicated to the evaluation and management of children and families at increased genetic risk for cancer.

The Division provides a highly collaborative and interactive environment where the faculty member will have ample opportunities to participate in clinical, educational and translational research initiatives centered around clinical germline genomics and the incorporation of germline genomic information into patient care. As an integral member of a team of other physician-investigators, advanced practice providers, genetic counselors and nurses, the faculty member will be able to carry out clinical and research projects focused on advancing understanding of childhood cancers and improving upon their treatment. The faculty member will have access to research assistants, computational biologists, genome scientists, and many other essential resources, which will facilitate their research investigations and ensure their success.

This is a remarkable opportunity to be part of a positive workplace where all employees, regardless of their role, share the same commitment to make a difference in the lives of children with cancer and other catastrophic illnesses. St. Jude is consistently ranked on Fortune Magazine’s “100 Best Places to Work For” and is No. 9 on the 2018 Glassdoor “Best Place to Work” list for companies with 1,000 or more employees.

This position is based in Memphis, TN with relocation assistance available. The facilities and salaries are competitive, and a generous benefit package is included. Memphis is a family-friendly metropolitan area that is recognized for its world-class music, food and hospitality. Mild winters and beautiful green spaces are part of the reasons why Forbes recently named Memphis the 4th happiest city in which to work.
