Food and health systems have been pushed to the brink by the COVID-19 pandemic, and the full impacts of the crisis on undernutrition and overnutrition are not yet known. But we do know that global hunger rose in 2020 and, with SDG 2 Zero Hunger off-track, the UN Food Systems and Nutrition for Growth Summits of 2021 have more profound urgency than before.
As an offical side event of the Tokyo Nutrition for Growth Summit 2021, Nature Food is hosting a two-day event on nutrition - to characterise today's nutrition landscape including global challenges of malnutrition, capabilities of modern nutrition sciences to tackle them, and the willingness of powerful food system players to enact change. We explore how technological and financial innovations can drive advances in nutrition, and ask if those from politics and industry are hungry for change.
This virtual event will be held 9-10 November 2021 at 8:00-11:00 pm JST | 11:00-2:00 GMT | 6:00-9:00 am EST
