Eukaryotic mRNA Processing

August 24 - 27/8, 2021

Abstract Deadline: June 4, 2021

Alberto Kornblihtt, University of Buenos Aires, Argentina

Tracy Johnson, University of California, Los Angeles

Karla Neugebauer, Yale University

Yongsheng Shi. University of California, Irvine

We are pleased to host the thirteenth Cold Spring Harbor meeting on Eukaryotic mRNA Processing will focus on the mechanisms and regulation of mRNA splicing, polyadenylation, turnover, localization and RNA interference. It will include all aspects mRNA transport, processing and control, including ncRNA function, regulation of viral RNAs and disease implication of mRNA processing. The meeting is intended to provide a format for the exchange of ideas and information, to discuss the latest research findings and technical advances, and to facilitate interaction amongst groups active in diverse systems.

Because of uncertainties around COVID19 and the possible development of effective vaccines, we are being flexible and considering two options:

1) In-person meeting beginning Tuesday evening, August 24 and ending with lunch on Saturday, August 28, 2021.(We appreciate that due to vaccine availability and travel restrictions/concerns some participants may need to attend the in-person meeting virtually)

2) Virtual meeting, beginning Tuesday morning, August 24, and ending Friday afternoon, August 27, 2021.

The decision about meeting format will be made no later than May 12, 2021.

The program will include a mixture of full and half oral sessions, and two poster sessions. Full sessions are chaired by two discussion leaders, while half sessions are chaired by one discussion leader:

Please bring this notice to the attention of any of your colleagues who may be interested in participating in the meeting.

All abstracts must be submitted by the abstract deadline. Late registrations may be accepted after the abstract deadline if the meeting is not oversubscribed. In the event of over-subscription, every effort will be made to ensure that all groups who wish to participate will be represented. The status (talk/poster) of abstracts will be posted on our web site as soon as decisions have been made by the organizers.

We are eager to have as many young people as possible attend since they are likely to benefit most from this meeting. We have applied for funds from government and industry to partially support graduate students and postdocs. Please apply in writing via email to Catie Carr and state your financial needs; preference will be given to those who submit abstracts.
