The Chong Lab at Caltech studies the interaction behaviors and functions of intrinsically disordered proteins, including their phase separation behaviors, in the context of physiology and disease. Our research interfaces between biology, chemistry, and physics. Since biomolecular transactions are often highly dynamic, reversible, and heterogeneous, we believe that an in-depth mechanistic understanding of them requires visualizing biomolecules one at a time with high spatiotemporal resolution.
