International News

  • At a meeting, held in California on February 24–27, an international group of scientists decided that strict controls should be placed on the use of an experimental technique which enables genes to be transplanted from one organism into another. This statement, drawn up by the organising committee for the conference* is a summary of a report submitted to the Assembly of Life Sciences of the National Academy of Sciences and approved by its Executive Committee on May 20, 1975.
