Journal Information

Aims & scope

Nature Cardiovascular Research is dedicated to publishing original and important advances in cardiac, vascular and blood biology, covering fundamental, translational, clinical and public health research.  The journal aims to expand our understanding of all aspects of the cardiovascular system and haematology during development and in health and disease, and accelerate the translation of this knowledge into clinics to advance diagnosis, treatment and prevention.  Our broad scope encompasses not only basic and clinical research, but also the societal impacts of cardiovascular and blood disease, ensuring that published works reach the widest possible audience of scientists, clinicians and policymakers. For more information, see Aims & Scope.

Online publication

Nature Cardiovascular Research is an exclusively online publication. This allows us to publish research articles as soon as they are ready, which benefits authors with an earlier publication date and allows our readers access to accepted papers several weeks before they would appear in a specific issue. Note that papers published online are definitive and may be altered only through the publication of an addendum, corrigendum or erratum, so authors should make every effort to ensure that the page proofs are correct.

Content types

We publish a range of content types, including original research Articles, Letters and Analyses, News & Views, Reviews, Perspectives, Comments, Features and Correspondence pieces that elaborate on significant advances in the field and cover topical issues.
