About the Editors

Chief Editor: Sebastien Thuault

Sebastien is the launch editor of Nature Aging. Originally from France, he obtained his PhD from the University of Bristol in the United Kingdom and performed postdoctoral research in neuroscience at Columbia University in New York City. He joined Nature Research in 2011 and served as a Senior Editor at Nature Neuroscience until 2019, when he transitioned to Nature Communications to steer the Neuroscience and Psychology team. In 2018, he worked as a Publishing Manager focusing on the proposal to launch Nature Aging and took over direction of the journal in March 2020. Sebastien’s keen interest in aging originally stemmed from his years of editorial work with neuroscientists studying neurodegenerative disorders, stroke and brain aging. Since joining Nature Aging, he has expanded his knowledge and interests to many other areas of aging research. Sebastien is based in the New York office. Senior Editor: Anna Kriebs

Anna obtained a Diplom in Biochemistry from the University of Tuebingen, where she focused on cellular regulators of senescence. She then moved to the field of circadian biology and completed her PhD at the Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla, California studying how circadian clocks regulate metabolism. In 2018, Anna joined the Nature Portfolio as an editor for Nature Communications, where she handled manuscripts in the areas of metabolic physiology and disease, circadian rhythms, and aging. Anna joined Nature Aging in October 2021. She is based in the Berlin office and you can reach her at anna.kriebs@nature.com.

 

Associate editor: Cindy de Frias

Cindy received her PhD in Lifespan Development from the University of Victoria, where she focused on memory compensation and aging, and longitudinal methods. She completed her CIHR-funded postdoctoral research at Stockholm University and the Karolinska Institutet in the area of geriatric epidemiology. She then continued her postdoc at the University of Alberta (Medicine) in the area of Parkinson’s disease. She has held professorship positions at Stockholm University and the University of Texas at Dallas. Cindy joined Nature Aging in October 2021 in Berlin. You can reach her at cindy.defrias@nature.com.
