Npas3 localisation in the mouse dentate gyrus. Immunofluorescent staining of mouse brain reveals that expression of the Npas3 transcription factor is concentrated towards the subgranular zone face of the dentate gyrus granule cell layer. The distribution is in line with its reported role in the maturation of new neurons generated in this region and provides a functional link between genetic risk of psychiatric disorders and compromised neurodevelopment.
