Calbindin immunoreactivity (red) identifies three Purkinje cell somata, dendrites and spines within the molecular layer of the cerebellar cortex of a normal rat. Corticotropin releasing factor (green) immunoreactivity is selectively expressed in climbing fibers, twisting around thicker Purkinje cells dendrites, seamless following proximal Purkinje cell dendrites. Image made with a Zeiss 710 scanning confocal microscope using a Plan Apochromatic 100X DIC oil objective (NA 1.46).
