About the Editors

Chief Editor: Alexandra Le Bras

Alexandra did her PhD at the Institute of Biology in Lille, France, where she studied the transcriptional and epigenetic mechanisms regulating endothelial gene expression. She then conducted postdoctoral research, investigating vascular development in stem cell and mouse models (Harvard Medical School, USA) and working on gene and cell therapy approaches for cardiovascular disease (King’s College London, UK). Before joining LabAnimal in February 2019, she was Locum Associate Editor at Nature Reviews Cardiology for a year.

Senior Editor: Ellen Neff

Ellen joined LabAnimal in the summer of 2016. Before starting in editorial, she was a coordinator for a NASA Earth Science metadata project, focused on facilitating accessible research that is comprehensible to a broad audience. She studied biology with minors in chemistry and classics at the University of Pittsburgh and completed her graduate degree in marine biology at Northeastern University. Although her invertebrate subjects were outside the purview of IACUCs, she has experience in whole organism biology and the science of indirect effects and interactions.
