Human sexual development starts as early as the first weeks of intrauterine life and human sexuality continues to evolve through infancy, childhood, adolescence, and adulthood up until death. Although pediatric population may commonly face with sexual health problems, these issues may not be managed properly because of limited scientific data, legal obstacles and sociocultural barriers on these sensitive topics. Therefore, understanding pediatric sexuality has important clinical, legal, social, cultural and educational implications. Since late 2019, a novel virus named severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) has emerged as a new public health crisis. Although scientists have primarily focused on keeping patients alive by preventing the deadly symptoms of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), studies have shown that the virus can also impair quality of life by deteriorating sexual and reproductive systems. In this collection, we aim to provide insights related to the novel coronavirus's neglected effects on human sexuality. We hope that scientists will focus more on "COVID-19 and Sexuality" in the future and identify optimal management strategies for individuals who suffer from sexual side effects of coronavirus.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) is a common form of sexual dysfunctions, which significantly deteriorates the quality of life of a man and his partner. ED can also affect self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-image of masculinity. The launch of Viagra in 1998 has revolutionized the management of ED. In the recent years, ED research has focused on regenerative therapies which have the potential of restoring erectile function permanently. Such a treatment modality will rule out the need for continuously taking medication for a healthy sexual life. Development of ideal ED therapy requires good understanding of ED pathophysiology and efficacy of currently available treatments. In order to contribute to the efforts in finding the "cure" for ED, we have created an "Erectile Dysfunction 2020 Collection" where our readers will be able to read the most up to date research on this important sexual problem. We truly hope that, the articles that we have published in IJIR: Your Sexual Medicine Journal will be beneficial for our readers.
