Collection Title: Guidelines for the Management of Hypertension

The Japanese Society of Hypertension periodically updates evidence-based and consensus-based guidelines for hypertension treatment, known as the "JSH Guidelines." The latest version is scheduled for release in the next few years, and the English version will be published on Hypertension Research. The purpose of this collection is to gather evidence and opinions that contribute to the next guidelines. All articles included in this collection concern the guidelines.

Special Issue on "Home Blood Pressure-Centered Management of Hypertension"

Home blood pressure-centered management of hypertension is facilitated in the digital age. This approach is effective from the healthcare to medical treatment for the suppression of the onset and aggravation of hypertension.

Here, we encourage to submit all types of papers (original article, brief report, meta-analysis, review, minireview paper, correspondence) of concept, technology, evidence related to all challenges of home blood pressure from healthcare to medicine.

Topical Collection_ Digital Hypertension

The recent dramatic development of information and communication technology (ICT) has greatly advanced the approach to hypertension management. The Japanese Society of Hypertension (JSH) has made "the JSH Future Plan," aiming to overcome hypertension, which is the biggest cause of cardiovascular diseases, and to extend healthy life expectancy in a super-aging society, and has proposed a new academic field called "Digital Hypertension”. Digital hypertension is a new academic field that creates added value in hypertension treatment and related medical care by the ICT. We welcome papers related to research concepts and hypothesis, sensor development, information processing, AI, clinical indicators, big data analysis, digital therapeutics, virtual management of hypertension, telemedicine, etc.

Renal Denervation and Sympathetic Nerve System

We are hereby announcing a call for papers for the special issue “Renal Denervation and Sympathetic Nerve System”. We previously published a special issue on this topic in 2021, mainly focusing on Asia. In light of the new data and evidence that has accumulated since then, we believe now is the best time to plan this new Special Feature.

Articles on the following aspects of renal denervation are welcome: 1) clinical evidence of randomized sham-controlled trials and real-world studies, 2) long-term effects on efficacy and safety, 3) different denervation techniques, 4) patientpreferences, 5) positioning in the guidelines, and 6) experimental studies.
