The low and high magnification images of TRPV1–IR are shown in naive control (a, d), acid-infused (b,e), and fundus-ligated (c,f). Most of the neurons in the fundus–ligated rats exhibit high levels of TRPV1–IR. The TRPV-ir in neurons from acid-infused rats varies from moderate to high intensity in comparison to a distinctly low TRPV1–IR in naive control. Scale bars in a-c 200 mum; d-f 80 mum.
