Ikuo Hirano

Dr Hirano is Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Fellowship Program at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. He attended medical school at the University of Pennsylvania and completed his medical residency and GI fellowship at Beth Israel Hospital in Boston. He took a faculty position at Harvard Medical School working in esophageal physiology before coming to Northwestern in 1998. His academic interests are in swallowing, motility and esophageal disorders.
