Article processing charges
Communications Psychology is an open access journal. To publish in Communications Psychology, authors are required to pay an article processing charge (APC).
What is an APC, and what are authors paying for?
As costs are involved in every stage of the publication process, from administrating peer review to proofreading and hosting the final article on dedicated servers, authors are asked to pay an APC in order for their article to be published open access under a Creative Commons licence.
The APC for all published papers is as follows, plus VAT or local taxes where applicable:
£1,390 (UK)
$2,090 (the Americas*, Greater China** and Japan)
€1,690 (Europe and rest of world)
Visit our open research site for further information about APCs at Nature Research.
Open access funding
Springer Nature offers an APC support service to make it easier for authors to discover and apply for open access funding. To learn more please visit the Springer Nature funding & support services page.
APC waiver policy
Springer Nature offers APC waivers and discounts for papers published in our fully open access journals whose corresponding authors are based in the world’s lowest income countries as defined by the World Bank. See here for further information.
Requests from other authors for APC waivers and discounts will be considered on a case-by-case basis, and may be granted in cases of financial need. All applications for discretionary APC waivers should be made prior to or at the point of manuscript submission; requests made during the review process or after acceptance will not be considered.
Please visit the Springer Nature open access journal policies page to learn more about our waiver policy.
To request a waiver, please contact the waiver support team at the point of submission, stating the journal you will submit to.
