Editor's choice: antimicrobial resistance

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is the ability of a microorganisms to resist the action of drugs. AMR is a global public health concern that needs to be urgently addressed as it threatens the effective treatment of an increasing range of pathogens worldwide. Here is a selection of recent articles showcasing research aimed at elucidating the mechanisms of AMR emergence and spread, and developing strategies to counteract the rise of pathogen resistance to medications currently in use.
