Editor's choice: seismic events
Seismic events occur when tension in the earth’s crust causes slippage or sudden movements of the bedrock. These events can range from being barely detectable, to having dramatic impacts on the landscape that may in turn cause tidal waves, volcanic eruptions or landslides. In this Collection, we bring together some of our recent papers looking at advances in our ability to model and predict seismic events and the phenomena they give rise to, as well as what we’ve learned from monitoring these events in real-time.
