Diego Gomez-Casati a Professor at National University of Rosario, and a Researcher at the National Research Council (CONICET), both in Argentina. His major research interest is related to plant and algae energetic metabolism, CAZY enzymes structure-function studies, as well as starch and mitochondrial metabolism. Mathieu Pernice is Deputy Director and Associate Professor at the University of Technology Sydney. His main research interests are based around the aims to transform fossil based systems into sustainable biomanufacturing, using algae to progress Australia's Bioeconomy (Algal Biosystems and Biotechnology team), and to develop and implement sublethal markers of stress for seagrass and coral reef monitoring (Seagrass Health team and collaborative work with Future Reefs team ).
