This Collection aims to publish the latest research and advances in all aspects of digital technologies for women’s health and reproductive, maternal, and newborn care, including the implementation and evaluation of internet and mobile applications, wearables, virtual care platforms, linked devices, and sensors, and artificial intelligence-based approaches.

The topics will include, but are not limited to:

  • Women’s health and maternal-newborn care in low-income settings
  • Chronic disease management, including gynecologic conditions
  • Racial and ethnic disparities in women’s and reproductive health
  • Fertility, family planning, and contraception
  • Menopause and osteoporosis prevention
  • Mental health, including peri- and post-partum mood disorders
  • Parental support during the first year
  • Breast and gynecologic cancers

About the Guest Editor

 

melissaMelissa M. Medvedev is a physician-scientist with a background in global health, epidemiology, statistical analysis, and health technology innovation, including the development and application of AI methods. Her research focuses on risk prediction and the evaluation of maternal, neonatal, and early childhood interventions to promote survival and prevent disability. She has led numerous clinical trials and studies, consulted for and advised health tech companies (digital health, machine learning) and global initiatives, and is an alumnus of the Stanford Biodesign Innovation Fellowship.
