Hongliang Li, M.D., Ph.D., is the Director of IMA, the Dean of School of Basic Medical Sciences and a Professor of Medicine at Wuhan University. Dedicated to molecular biology and medical studies, he has made seminal contributions to studies on the molecular mechanisms and treatment targets of cardiometabolic diseases, and the development of gene-edited animal models of complex human diseases. His numerous awards include the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Chair Professorship of the Chang Jiang Scholar programme, and Tan Jiazhen Life Science Award.
