In recent years, people around the world have been affected by a virus-like spread of misinformation and conspiracy theories - eliciting high-charged discussion around topics such as political incentives, the efficacy of Covid-19 treatments or vaccine safety. As such, the psychology of conspiracy and misinformation beliefs is a highly relevant and timely topic. This Collection explores cognitive, social and affective processes driving conspiracy and misinformation belief formation as well as the resistance to knowledge revision. Furthermore, research will examine the association between the tendency to endorse misinformed views and personal factors such as cognitive styles or personality traits
