Waveguides have been extensively studied for their significance in the confinement of electromagnetic waves (especially for microwave and optical radiations) as well as sound waves (acoustic waveguides). Electromagnetic waveguides have been essential in a variety of technologies including electromagnetic sensing, wireless communication, optical communications, and photonic integrated circuits. On the other side, acoustic waveguides have found uses in architectural acoustics, and medical applications.

This Collection showcases original manuscripts reporting the latest advances in waveguides; it spans from waveguides growth and characterization technologies to their use in exciting applications.
