Nature Milestones in Gene Expression

Editorial

The Milestones are a series of specially written articles, which highlight the most influential discoveries in the field of transcription and chromatin over the past 50 years. Milestones in Gene Expression also comprises a Collection of selected review-type articles and an online-only NPG library of recent research papers and review content that are organized according to topic.

Milestones timeline

The Milestones are ordered along a chronological timeline — the first one dating from 1959 and the most recent one from 1999 — according to the year in which the oldest original research paper associated with the Milestone was published.

Collection articles

Articles that were selected for the Collection have been previously published by the Nature Publishing Group and comprise review-type articles including two Reviews, an Opinion and a Progress article.

NPG library

The online-only library contains recent research and review-type articles on the topics of prokaryotic and eukaryotic transcription, chromatin, epigenetics and large-scale gene expression from the Nature Publishing Group.

Advisors

The papers that were highlighted in the Milestones were chosen with the help of a panel of expert advisors.
