Genetic diversity of antimicrobial resistance (AMR)
Submission status
Open
Submission deadline
Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is a major problem for efficiently combating infectious diseases worldwide caused by microorganisms. AMR surveillance and mitigation are a current global health priority. Understanding the genetic variability of AMR, in terms of resistance-conferring genes, mutations and mobile genetic elements, is in particular crucial for these endeavours and for developing new, more effective therapeutics.
This Collection highlights original research that helps our understanding of the genetic mechanism that leads to antimicrobial resistance.
