Open access

As an open access journal, Cell Death Discovery content is freely available to all researchers worldwide, ensuring maximum dissemination.
Authors of accepted manuscripts are charged an article-processing fee of £1,390/ $1870/ €1,570. Please see the Instructions for Authors for full details.

Single blind peer review and fast turnaround time

Cell Death Discovery aims to provide a decision very quickly and publish your paper online within 25 days from receiving it in production. Content is published online on a weekly basis to provide timely communication to the community and keep publication times to a minimum. Papers will undergo a technical peer review process primarily to ensure reproducibility of content.

Cell Death Discovery uses a single-blind peer review system as standard.

Online submission

Cell Death Discovery has adopted Springer Nature's online submission system, which allows authors to submit papers via the Web. This system speeds up the submission and refereeing process, and allows you to view the status of your paper online.

In addition, authors whose papers have been rejected from Cell Death & Differentiation or Cell Death & Disease will be provided with the option to seamlessly and effortlessly transfer their manuscript to Cell Death Discovery. Authors are given this option within the decision letter and can submit their paper to Cell Death Discovery without having to go through the submission process again. With a few clicks all files are transferred to Cell Death Discovery.

Creative Commons License

Articles are published under Creative Commons licenses, which provide an industry-standard framework to support easy re-use of open access material. Under Creative Commons, authors retain copyright of their work. Cell Death Discovery articles are published under a CC BY license (Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License) by default. Abstracting and indexing

Cell Death Discovery has been accepted into PubMed Central, and content is now visible on that site. As with any new journal, however, full indexing takes some time. Pending review and acceptance, all past published articles will be indexed retrospectively.

Cell Death Discovery articles also appear in Google Scholar.
