    On behalf of the CDD AWARD Advisory Committee, it is a great pleasure for us to inform you that following a call for nominations from all editors of the CDD journals, that the Scientific Awards Committee has selected the winner of “The 2022/23 CDD PRIZE & AWARD”. The winners will present the keynote lecture at the pcoming 2023 CDD Conference in Paris (June 28-30, 2023)

    On March 11th 2020 the WHO declared the SARS-CoV-2 outbreak a pandemic. Since then, the worldwide research community has started the fight against this infection, cause of the life-threatening severe acute respiratory syndrome, COVID-19. One year after, we have a much deeper understanding of the biology of this virus, and several vaccines that are currently in clinical use.

    The complexity of the human genome clearly emerged with the identification of several classes of non-coding RNAs. Within these, long-non-coding RNAs (lncRNAs) appear intriguingly complex, adopting many alternative mechanisms of actions and impinging on several basic biological processes of the cell.
