“Not just dewdrops” by Ryszard Szydło, Research Scientist at Imperial College London; digital photograph, manipulated to give its present form.

Ryszard Szydło has been taking photographs for 28 years, applying the skills of analysis and interpretation to record a personal chronicle of his interests and travels. The natural world, made up of infinite life-cycles, provides a rich environment that he has exploited, not only to capture what is young, aesthetic and vibrant, but also that which is old, dying and decaying; beauty abounds not just in the living. He has exhibited at the Summer Exhibition of the Royal Academy in 2004 and 2005, and is the author of an exhibition entitled ‘The mysticism of places without people’.
