    SRI LANKA, 1950: THE TEMPLE AT KANDY The cover images in volume 210 of the Journal feature dentally-themed postage stamps from around the world. Kandy in Sri Lanka, formerly Ceylon, is the site of a Buddhist temple in which is contained a tooth of the Buddha. The temple has been depicted on a number of stamps issued locally, including this airmail stamp from 1950 which shows the Octagon Library at the temple. Princess Aziza Othmana, depicted on this stamp from Tunisia, came from a family of considerable wealth. When she died, her part of the fortune was used to provide healthcare for the poor.
