Variation contributes to embryo loss.
Ian Wilmut, a featured editor in June 2007, described this as one of his own favourite articles.
He said, “One of my earlier interests was to understand why so many embryos die, particularly in our own species. This paper reviews evidence that much of the loss may be due to physiological and environmental variation”.
