hBM-MSCs adhered to both the tissue culture flasks and the microcarriers in the suspension bioreactors on day 1, and proliferated up to day 4 (A). FACS analysis for hMSC markers, CD13, CD73, CD90, CD105 were >99.9% while non-hMSC markers were expressed <2.0%. Mean fluorescence intensity is also displayed (B). Additionally, key process parameters (i.e. dissolved oxygen, pH and temperature) in our computer-controlled bioreactor system were well maintained at pre-determined setpoints for the culture period (C).
