A, ROI analyses for gamma ERS before placebo administration. A two-way ANOVA revealed a significant emotion effect (df = 3, F = 2.938, P = 0.041) but no significant hemispheric effect (df = 1, F = 0.814, P>0.05). There was no significant interaction between these two factors (df = 3, F = 0.922, P>0.05). Post-hoc analyses showed that the gamma ERS in the amygdala was larger for the anger condition than for the happiness condition (P = 0.005). Error bars indicate 1 standard error.
