New Philips Zoom Clinical study proves superior tooth whitening results with Whitespeed LED Acceleration

A new study: Comparison of the tooth shade reduction and color change effects of 6% hydrogen peroxide with and without Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed LED acceleration followed with use of Philips Zoom NiteWhite 16% Carbamide Peroxide1 shows that dental professionals can now be more confident than ever in offering Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed LED chairside tooth whitening. In this latest scientific research, evidence shows that in-practice treatment, using 6% hydrogen peroxide and LED acceleration, delivers statistically significant superior results compared with in-practice treatment without LED acceleration. The clinical trial, conducted amongst 77 patients, was a randomised, single-blind, split-mouth design with 43 female participants and 34 males of an average age of 49. Using the VITA EasyShade guide to measure changes in tooth colour, the study demonstrated the effectiveness of chairside tooth whitening with the 4 × 15-minute regime of 6% hydrogen peroxide followed with a three-dose treatment with 16% carbamide peroxide

The results also showed that Philips Zoom WhiteSpeed LED acceleration achieved minimal shade fade back immediately after treatment and that this was maintained at 7 days and 14 days following treatment, with patients also using three doses of Philips Zoom NiteWhite 16% carbamide peroxide.
