Breakthrough toothpaste technology

Subjects

The British Dental Health Foundation (BDHF) has accredited Oral-B's Pro-Expert toothpaste, calling it 'breakthrough toothpaste technology' and hailing the product as 'the most significant toothpaste launch of the decade'. This comes just as Pro-Expert is celebrating its first anniversary in the toothpaste market.

Pro-Expert is based on a new and patented stabilised stannous fluoride formulation which delivers long-lasting anti-bacterial benefits, while the fluoride reduces demineralisation and effectively drives remineralisation. The stannous fluoride inhibits bacterial growth, reduces bacterial adhesion and affects microbial metabolic processes, while it also can block dentinal tubuli.

In addition, the polyphosphate in the formula delivers extra whitening and anti-calculus benefits, therefore eradicating the staining issues prevalent with non-stabilised formulas of stannous fluoride.

The BDHF accreditation scheme is aimed at guiding patients by providing reassurance on claims for oral care products.
