Anodes are assembled in semibatteries using Li foil for reference and counter electrodes, and 1.0 M LiPF6 in a 50:50 (w/w) mixture of EC:DEC (ethylene carbonate:diethyl carbonate) as the electrolyte. a, c Charge capacity (Si electrode delithiation), and b, d Coulombic efficiency of semibatteries cycled at 0.5 C between 0.01 and 1 V.
