My scientific journey has spanned many countries and places. I was born in Albania, a beautiful Mediterranean country that went through a long period of isolationism until the 1990s. Despite the disadvantages of growing up in a country with limited resources, I always considered myself one of the lucky ones, thanks to an incredibly supportive family with a deep-rooted admiration for education.
