The Original Article was published on 25 March 2019

Correction to: npj Climate and Atmospheric Science, published online 25 March 2019

In the original published version of this Article, incorrect numbers were inserted in the text and Table 3. In particular the number for methane emissions 3.0 × 10−8 Tg/a should have been 3.0 × 10−6 Tg/a, and for groundwater pumping 4.67 × 107 L/a should have been 4.27 × 109 L/a. This has now been corrected in the PDF and HTML versions of the Article.
