The effect of salinity (right) on Na banding in A. lessonii and A. tepida is a linear increase of the trough and peak height, whereby the trough is increasing relatively more than the peak height. Error bars indicate +/− 1 SD surrounding the mean peak and mean trough values. The position of the error bars is sometimes offset along the x-axis for clarity and for the Na/Ca of A. lessonii grown at a salinity of 40, the +1 SD has been partly removed.
