(a) The convolutional neural network (CNN) recognized the anatomical location of gastro-intestinal endoscopy images very accurately with area under the curve (AUC) values of 1.00 [95% confidence interval (CI): 1.00-1.00, p < 0.0001] for the larynx, 1.00 (95%CI: 1.00–1.00, p < 0.0001) for the esophagus, 0.99 (95%CI: 0.99–1.00, p < 0.0001) for the stomach, and 0.99 (95%CI: 0.99–0.99, p < 0.0001). (b) The convolutional neural network (CNN) recognized the anatomical location of the stomach images accurately with AUC values of 0.99 (95%CI: 0.99–0.99, p < 0.0001) for the upper stomach, 0.99 (95%CI: 0.99–0.99, p < 0.0001) for the middle stomach, and 0.99 (95%CI: 0.99-0.99, p < 0.0001) for the lower stomach.
