Experimental Design. Fifty-two mice were divided randomly into two groups as follows: 19 mice receiving normal saline, and 33 mice receiving N- nitrosodimethylamine (NDMA) in drinking water. Four weeks after NDMA administration, common bile duct ligation (CBDL) was performed in the experimental group, whereas sham operation was performed in the control group. The contrast-enhanced ultrasound (CEUS) and photoacoustic imaging were performed at baseline, four-, six- and eight-week follow-up, and then tumor was harvested at six weeks and eight weeks following administration of NDMA or normal saline.
