White colored areas within the black circled jet boarder mark either, due to refraction, non-irradiated areas or regimes of such low energy densities that no thermal mechanism affecting a whole particle volume is taking place. In addition, particle diameter dependent absorbance, measured with an analytical disc centrifuge at 405 nm, of the educt powder is shown (g) and used for identifying the most absorbing particle size fractions.
