In the version of this article initially published online, the units for voxel size were given in the first paragraph of Results as mm3; the correct units are nm3. The units for the coverslip size in the first paragraph of Methods were given as μm; the correct units are mm. And the two cell lines from the Garini lab listed in the Reporting Summary under “Eukaryotic cells lines” were described as being used in ref. 50; the correct reference is ref. 51.
