In the version of this Article initially published, there were errors in Fig. 8. In the schematic for BRD4 depletion at right, the downward blue arrow representing stabilization of NIPBL on chromatin should have been comparatively thinner than the upward arrow corresponding to NIPBL dissociation from chromatin. Similarly, the green arrow at bottom right indicating differentiation should have been comparatively thinner to indicate less differentiation to smooth muscle cells as compared to wild-type neural crest progenitors at bottom left.
