Since their discovery, metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) have become of great scientific interest because their porous nature enables their use, for example, as molecular sieves and molecular storage (for gases and liquids). In particular, their adsorption and release properties of water at ambient pressure have been studied with water-stable MOFs such as CAU-10-H (named after Christian-Albrechts University).
