In the original version of this article, there were errors in Table 2, the Results section, Supplementary Table 2, as well as in the Author Affiliations and Funding sections.

In Table 2, HU54’s FamilyTree based Y chromosome haplogroup should be “R-Y2608” instead of “R-YP1626”

  2. (2)

Corresponding to this change, the second sentence of the seventh paragraph of the “Y chromosome haplogroup derivation for ancient samples” section should read: HU54 is derived for R-Y2608 (R1a1a1b1a2b3a6a2~) which is most common in southwest Russia and Ukraine, Belarus and eastern Poland

  3. (3)

Supplementary Table 2, mitochondrial SNPs associated with HU52, 16296T and 16304C!, should read 16296C and 16304T

  4. (4)

The Author affiliations omitted the following: Péter L. Nagy is sole owner of Praxis Genomics LLC and Miklós Kásler is “Minister of Human Capacities (EMMI) of the Republic of Hungary”

  5. (5)

The first sentence of the Funding section should read “Funding for the NGS sequencing and data analysis was provided by the Institute of Hungarian Research”.
