Incorrect use of nicotine lozenges

We would like to bring to the attention of readers an interesting case of oromucosal lesions caused by incorrect use of nicotine lozenges.

A 49-year-old patient was referred by their dentist to the oral medicine clinic at Liverpool University Dental Hospital because of a persistent white patch on the palate, which had not been noticed by the patient. This patient suffered from health-related anxiety, for which she was prescribed citalopram. The rest of the patient's medical history was clear, and the patient reported being an ex-smoker.
