Ellie said: 'I will be discussing the research my team and I have been carrying out. We facilitated focus groups of dental therapy students, educators and qualified dental therapists to explore attitudes towards, and experiences of, domiciliary dentistry. Domiciliary dentistry is not always considered an attractive field to work in. Speaking at BDCDS provides a wonderful opportunity to help delegates explore the benefits to the clinician, and their patients, of providing dentistry away from the clinic.

'I hope that delegates have a renewed awareness of alternative careers, and a drive to support changes to NHS dentistry that deliver better outcomes for our older patients. This will also support patients in practice, as clinicians will be well informed about the practicalities of domiciliary dentistry.'

The British Dental Conference & Dentistry Show 2023 will be held on Friday 12 and Saturday 13 May, NEC Birmingham, co-located with DTS. For more information, visit https://birmingham.dentistryshow.co.uk/.
