The Hygienist & Therapist Symposium delivered an exciting two-day lecture programme at this year's British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show in May.

Among the exceptional speakers were Dr Alif Moosajee who provided a hygienist/therapist guide to peri-implant disease; dental hygienist Helen Minnery who discussed supporting patients with immediate loading full arch implant restorations; Dr Barry Oulton who explored the wisdom of great oral hygiene habits; and Professor Tim Newton who presented on effective communication strategies to promote periodontal health. There were also sessions on direct access, managing dentine hypersensitivity, child patient behaviour management, the implications of self-employment, social media, and much more.

Commenting on the event in general, Alisa Chauhan, a dental therapist from NHS Community Wolverhampton, said: 'The show has been very diverse with a variety of good lectures relevant to me.'

Charlotte Harms, a dental hygienist and therapist from Pall Mall Dental Practice, said: 'I have loved the Show. I have been to nearly 20 talks over both days and have been so impressed. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.'
