David Westgarth, Editor, BDJ Student

Hello, and welcome to April's BDJ Student.

As we stream roll through 2022, attention turns from exams to next steps. The summer holidays for some of you will be your last as a student, as your training wheels begin to loosen ahead of moving into practice. It's a stressful time - particularly with securing the DCT placements that suit you best.

This is why the Benevolent Fund's look into student stress is particularly interesting. Yes, COVID-19 casts a huge shadow over our personal and professional lives, even now, but the domino effect the pandemic set off will continue to be felt for some time to come. Chair of the Ben Fund, Dr Keeton, also puts forward some great resources on how to manage financial and mental health wellbeing.

Even with COVID-19 hanging over us, it was great to see so many of you at Dental Showcase, and we can't wait to see you in Birmingham for the upcoming British Dental Conference and Dentistry Show. If you haven't got your FREE ticket yet (what are you doing?!) then there's still time to register - visit https://birmingham.dentistryshow.co.uk/ to register now.

Our Student showcase collection gives you a flavour of what we provide for members

Finally, just a reminder that rather than waiting for BDJ Student to arrive at your doorstep three times a year, we now publish every single month. If you've ever thought of writing an article, getting involved in publishing or working with BDJ Student to iron out your ideas, we absolutely want to hear from you! Our Student showcase collection gives you a flavour of what we provide for members, so if you're a non-member - or even a member with friends who aren't - be sure to check it out to see how we're working for you.

Until next time.

David
